Effective from Oct 29, 2023, all Virgin Atlantic or VS flights operating at Pudong International Airport will be relocated from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1. Passengers flying with Virgin Atlantic are advised to follow terminal signs to the designated check-in counters at Terminal 1.
Should any Virgin Atlantic flight scheduled for Oct 28 be delayed to Oct 29, it will continue to operate from Terminal 2. Please refer to the airline's official announcements for confirmation.
Please check the airline and airport service hotline, official website, APP, etc., in due time to avoid delays.

A series of events including art performances, themed decorations and commercial promotions are ongoing at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, creating a festive New Year atmosphere.
A conversation between piano and ballet

The shows started on Dec 20 with a special performance entitled A Conversation between Piano and Ballet.
Over 90 minutes, passengers were presented with nearly 15 cross-border and interactive live performances combining ballet, piano, other Western musical instruments and Chinese folk instruments. Relying on an art installation and mirror stage in Hongqiao's Terminal 2, the show brought passengers both auditory and visual enjoyment through "dancing musical poems".
A children's ballet performance was also staged and passengers were invited to participate in the piano, box drum and Congo percussion playing teaching interactions during the event.

New Year terminal decorations welcome passengers

As 2020 approaches, Hongqiao airport's two terminals are decorated with garlands and colored balls to create a festive atmosphere with Shanghai features. The International, Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan Departures Hall at Hongqiao T1 is decorated with a crystal tree as the main design element, while T2 has white magnolias, the city flower of Shanghai. A seven-meter-high crystal white magnolia tree on the south side of T2's check-in hall attracts many passengers. Using LED soft screen technology to achieve a masterful display of shadow and light with interior decorations and dynamic videos, passengers are enjoying a beautiful visual experience.
Shopping festival improves passenger experience
To provide passengers with better, more affordable and interesting airport shopping experiences, Hongqiao airport launched a shopping festival from Dec 12, 2019 that will last until Jan 5, 2020. Passengers can enjoy discounts of up to 50 percent at some brand shops including Jimmy Choo, Max Mara, Tory Burch, Emporio Armani and Bally during the event. On the basis of the shopping festival, the airport also cooperated with Union Pay to have a time-limited preferential activity.
